A full year of industry-grade IT training — designed by the engineers who build enterprise infrastructure for major South African financial institutions. No prior experience needed. Just commitment.
Who Should Apply
Stream A is for anyone who is curious about how technology works and willing to learn. No laptops, no coding experience, no qualifications required — just genuine interest and commitment to show up every day.
You have wondered how websites work, how apps are built, or how companies manage their data. That curiosity is exactly enough to start.
You are looking for something that leads to actual employment — not a certificate that sits in a drawer. This programme ends with job-ready skills and an employment pipeline.
Cloud and DevOps skills let you work remotely for international companies and earn in foreign currency while living at home. This is one of the few careers where geography is no longer a ceiling.
This is a full-time, residential programme. You live on the farm, you study, you work. It is not easy — but it is completely supported and completely funded.
No problem. Every resident completes two school grades in Year 1 alongside farm life. You arrive wherever you are — we will get you to where you need to be.
The optional Advanced Year lets you specialise deeply and achieve professional certifications. There is no ceiling on what you can become if you are willing to put in the work.
The Curriculum
Our IT curriculum is not adapted from a generic training provider. It was designed specifically for Hope Horizon by Quantum Horizon engineers — the same people who build and manage database infrastructure, cloud platforms, and DevOps pipelines for major South African enterprises.
Every module includes hands-on project work. You do not just learn concepts — you build things, deploy things, and break things in a safe environment. By the end of Year 1, you have a real portfolio of deployed work.
The Advanced Year is optional. Residents who complete Year 1 and want to go deeper can specialise in one of three tracks: Cloud Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Full-Stack Development.
Choose one specialisation track for your Advanced Year. All three lead to professional-level certification and significantly higher earning potential.
Industry Certifications
Our graduates earn certifications from the world's most respected technology organisations. These are not Hope Horizon certificates — they are globally recognised qualifications that open doors in South Africa and internationally.
The entry-level AWS certification that validates cloud fundamentals and opens the door to all AWS career paths.
Year 1The globally recognised foundation certification for IT professionals. Required or preferred by most entry-level IT employers.
Year 1Validates networking knowledge and is widely recognised across the IT industry as proof of solid technical foundations.
Year 1One of the most valuable cloud certifications in the world. Holders command significantly higher salaries across SA and globally.
Year 2 · Track AThe Quantum Horizon Connection
Quantum Horizon IT Consulting is the commercial arm of Horizon Trust and the engine behind the IT Academy. Our curriculum is not theoretical — it is built directly from the work our engineers do every day on enterprise infrastructure for major South African institutions.
This connection gives Hope Horizon graduates something most training programmes cannot offer: a direct pathway into real employment, with a consulting firm that already knows their abilities.
How the Quantum Horizon pipeline works
Where You Can Go
These are the types of roles our graduates will be equipped for after completing the programme. Entry-level IT in South Africa pays significantly above the national median — and cloud skills unlock international remote work.
Managing cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure — storage, compute, networking, and monitoring. Entry salary R15,000–R25,000/month in South Africa. Remote roles often pay in USD or GBP.
Managing PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server databases — backups, performance, and reliability. High demand across banking, retail, and healthcare. R14,000–R22,000/month entry level.
Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, and keeping systems reliable. One of the fastest-growing roles in SA tech. R18,000–R28,000/month entry level.
The Income Step-Change
IT skills deliver one of the largest income step-changes of any career path accessible to someone starting from nothing. Here is what the numbers look like in South Africa.
Figures are approximate market rates as of 2025/2026. Remote international roles may pay in USD or GBP at significantly higher rates.
No experience needed. No qualifications required. Just your willingness to show up and commit. Applications take 5 minutes and we respond within 5 business days.
